    Description

     This is a non-credit course (zero credit hour) given for students at their first year of study (all university majors students should take it) . It is a prerequisite for E1 and it focuses mainly on the language learning skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing. The course is intended to equip the students with basic skills necessary for successful communication in both oral and written forms of the language. In addition to grammar and how to use vocabulary in a meaningful context.

  • Introduction

    Welcome to the first unit of this online course. This unit will be rich in interactive activities that you will find interesting and keep you engaged. In the first topic of this unit, you will be introduced to the ways people greet each other. In the second part of this unit you will read an Interview with Mohammad Salah. And in the third topic you will learn about the etiquette of online meetings which is called "Netiquette". Regarding grammar, you will learn how to use the present simple and Wh- questions correctly and employ them in introducing yourself. In the writing part, you will learn how to use capitalization correctly. And, of course, you will practice introducing yourself through spoken language to boost your confidence and to speak comfortably with people.

  • Introduction:

    In this unit, you will learn about the various nutrients that the human body needs to be healthy. You will also read about different cuisines from around the world and their ingredients. In the last reading passage, you will read about some healthy and unhealthy habits. You will also be able to talk about your favorite dishes and how to prepare them by giving instructions and following recipes. Regarding grammar, you will be introduced to the present simple passive and imperatives. In the writing part, you will learn how to use the separating comma to make lists.

  • Introduction: 

    This unit will be very interesting! The first topic talks about some ancient structures which are considered to be the wonders of the world. The second topic talks about cities and places to visit in Palestine and will take you on a tour in Palestine. The last topic talks about our planet, Earth, and the different biomes in it. Regarding grammar, you will learn about the past simple and prepositions of place. In the listening part, you will be exposed to the announcements in airports, which will give you the experience while travelling. Also, you will learn how to give directions.   • Introduction

    Welcome to the fifth unit of this online course. This unit will be rich in interactive activities hopefully you will find them enjoyable and keep you engaged. This unit covers several interesting points within the theme of technology. As in all units, there are reading and listening texts and a variety of language skills and functions. In the first topic of Unit Five, you will be able to know new technological tools and read a passage about technology facts and numbers in the year 2020. In the second part of this unit, you will read a passage entitled learning and technology it talks about the Palestinian university system and particularly Moodle application. Besides, in the third topic, you will know more about entertainment technology and the VR. Regarding grammar, you will learn how to use the present perfect tense and conjunctions correctly and employ them in your everyday speech. In the writing part, you will learn how to take a vote and debate then write your blog expressing opinions. And, of course, you will practice pronouncing the long and short vowel sounds correctly to boost your confidence and to speak comfortably with people.
