Remedial English: The course is a compulsory service course offered for first year students. It is a prerequisite for E1 and it focuses mainly on the language learning skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing. The course is intended to equip the students with basic skills necessary for successful communication in both oral and written forms of the language. In addition to grammar and how to use vocabulary in a meaningful context.The primary objective is to prepare students for the rigorous demands of future advanced academic programs. Utilizing the Unlock Second Edition series, the curriculum is built around six thematic units—People, Seasons, Lifestyles , Jobs, Homes and buildings, Food and culture —selected for their relevance in building essential vocabulary and conceptual understanding.
