    Description

     This is a non-credit course (zero credit hour) given for students at their first year of study (all university majors students should take it) . It is a prerequisite for E1 and it focuses mainly on the language learning skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing. The course is intended to equip the students with basic skills necessary for successful communication in both oral and written forms of the language. In addition to grammar and how to use vocabulary in a meaningful context.  

    Course Intended Learning Outcomes (CILOs)

    At the end of this course students should be able: 

     

    1.       To skim and scan reading comprehension texts.

     

    2.       To use the four skills of English in an integrated way to comprehend passages.

    3.       To use technical terms in different situations.

    4.       To employ knowledge of structure in forming meaningful statements.                       

    5.       To write meaningful sentence.

    6.       To write short developed paragraph in a certain topic.    

    7.       To use English to communicate fluently  

    8.       To use grammatical rules to construct meaningful sentences and paragraphs 

    9.       To read a wide range of texts to build a comprehensive understanding of texts and acquire new information.
