1 - Unit1: Meeting people

Introduction

Welcome to the first unit of this online course. This unit will be rich in interactive activities that you will find interesting and keep you engaged. In the first topic of this unit, you will be introduced to the ways people greet each other. In the second part of this unit you will read an Interview with Mohammad Salah. And in the third topic you will learn about the etiquette of online meetings which is called "Netiquette". Regarding grammar, you will learn how to use the present simple and Wh- questions correctly and employ them in introducing yourself. In the writing part, you will learn how to use capitalization correctly. And, of course, you will practice introducing yourself through spoken language to boost your confidence and to speak comfortably with people. 

Unit Objectives: 

By the end of this unit you will: 

- be able to introduce yourself with confidence.

- be able to use capitalization correctly.

- be able use the present simple in daily life situations.

- learn necessary vocabulary in greeting other people.

- learn more about other cultures in greeting people and compare them to the Palestinian context.

- learn to use Moodle and other electronic resources in the learning process.
