6- Unit Five: Technology

Introduction

Welcome to the fifth unit of this online course. This unit will be rich in interactive activities hopefully you will find them enjoyable and keep you engaged. This unit covers several interesting points within the theme of technology. As in all units, there are reading and listening texts and a variety of language skills and functions. In the first topic of Unit Five, you will be able to know new technological tools and read a passage about technology facts and numbers in the year 2020. In the second part of this unit, you will read a passage entitled learning and technology it talks about the Palestinian university system and particularly Moodle application. Besides, in the third topic, you will know more about entertainment technology and the VR. Regarding grammar, you will learn how to use the present perfect tense and conjunctions correctly and employ them in your everyday speech. In the writing part, you will learn how to take a vote and debate then write your blog expressing opinions. And, of course, you will practice pronouncing the long and short vowel sounds correctly to boost your confidence and to speak comfortably with people.

- Enhance the ability to speak about technology by knowing technical vocabulary.

- Express an opinion about technology correctly; then write a short blog.

- Use the present perfect tense in writing and speaking.

- Learn more about the Palestinian university system.
